Sneaky Spring Pests

Home » Uncategorized » Sneaky Spring Pests

We have finally entered the month of March and that means Spring is just around the corner.  If you’re like us, you are looking forward to the sunshine and warmer weather.  However, while it will be great to open those windows and let the fresh air flow through, it is important to remember that Spring time is also a time that insects and pests are roaming around and would happily join you indoors.

So what can you do to help prevent pests from invading your home this season?  A few suggestions are listed below:

  • Perform an exterior examination of your home- check outside for any cracks, rotting or other passageways that ants, termites and other pests could potentially use to enter your home.
  • Clear trees, shrubs and plants away from home- bushes and other plants that attract bugs are likely to assist in a home invasion when they are growing against the outside of your home, as they are closer to doors and windows and can more easily slip indoors.
  • Get going on your indoor Spring cleaning and put focus on your kitchen and pantry- open food containers and crumbs on shelves and floors can attract ants, mice and other pests.

While there are numerous other steps you can and often times should take in order reduce your chance of ant, termite, rodent and other pest invasions, these are a great and simple places to start.  Spring is a time to go out and enjoy the nicer weather, not sit at home and plot ways to trap those unwanted insects and critters in your home.  Should you find yourself in need of our exterminator and pest control services though, always feel free to give us a call and we will happily travel throughout the Greater Boston area to both residential and commercial buildings.
